SoSueMe book launch

sosueme book launch

This time last week, bellebeauty.com and a few other bloggers made their way to The Morgans Hotel to celebrate the launch of the fabulous Suzanne Jackson’s book launch for Sosueme.ie

When I say our night at the book launch exceeded my expectations that is no word of a lie…from free photo booth services (of which myself and the girls took full advantage of) to free wine, I can’t even begin to start discussing what the highlight of my night was (other than meeting the gorgeous Suzanne Jackson for the first time)

Unfortunately I didn’t taste the beautiful cupcakes (it was far too soon to be ruining my lipstick) but you can only imagine what they must have been like since I do enjoy occasional cupcake….. (the operative word here being occasional)

Now back to the book launch…. we had the chance to have our photographs taken by the one and only Jerry McCarthy (who’s pictures I snatched for this post) how lucky we were to have him taking shots of us all night…

Now for the most important part of the night…

I must say I was slightly star struck when I met Suzanne Jackson at the book launch she looked absolutely stunning! (A lot better than her pictures!) I really couldn’t believe it, and for her to call me gorgeous was just something else, they are definitely words that will stay with me till my death bed…. (no joke)

We each got a one to one with Suzanne and she even left me a lovely message in the SoSueMe book  (20 euro on the night)

I’ve been reading a bit of her book every night since I got it I genuinely feel like like she’s  a kind-hearted  and very driven person who is  full of encouragement. No wonder she is as successful as she is now…

Anatomicals Farewell the Scarlet Pimplehell Deep Cleansing Mud Mask

product review/ Skincare

Anatomicals Farewell The Scarlet Pimplehell Face Mud Mask

As you may or may not know, enhancewhatsyours.com attended her first bloggers meetup last weekend organized by Samantha Johnson over at All The Buzz.  I must say that this meetup was very well organized and I’m delighted that she got such a positive response from it (well deserved)

We all know, I like my facial masks so it should be no surprise that the Anatomicals Mud Mask was one of the first things I jumped at (after the Yes to Cucumbers cleanser of course….) when I finally decided which of the fabulous products I will be reviewing first (such generous goody bags we each got! I’d say I have a years’ supply of product reviews there! (no joke)

So back to Anatomicals Mud Mask…… I guess I will start with the things I liked about the mud mask:

  1. Anatomicals Mud Mask was not very runny so I found it quite easy to apply
  2. It is 100% pure clay and only takes 15 minutes to dry
  3. I managed to get two masks out of the 15ml and still had some product left
  4. It washes off surprisingly well (you wouldn’t think your face felt like cement only seconds before)
  5. IT IS NOT BLOTCHY! (probably the thing I liked the most about it) there is nothing worse than a mask that leaves you looking all blotchy!

As you can see, this product sits very well on the face. Then, you leave it on for 15 minutes and (I think my expression says it all….)

What I didn’t like about Anatomicals Mud Mask:

  1. Although the packaging is cute, I don’t like the fact that it’s in a sachet (especially if I plan to get 3 uses out of it)
  2. It seems like this product is targeted for a younger audience so I wonder if it’s something I should be using at all??
  3. Is it just me, or does anybody else get annoyed at the fact that capital letters don’t exist with Anatomicals??? (I find is so annoying!)

So what’s my final verdict:

I quite like my D.I.Y facial masks so this product is something I wouldn’t commit to using all the time, I probably wouldn’t  mind using it on my lazy days. Also, a few people seem to have a problem with the scent of this Anatomicals Mud Mask, but I actually quite like it. Last but not least….a euro a sachet, need I say more? 🙂

If you’ve used Anatomicals Deep Cleansing Mud Mask before, feel free to share your thoughts below! Here is a list of some of the gorgeous bloggers that attended Samantha’s meetup last weekend, what did you think of your mud mask ladies?

Boots Vitamin E Night Cream

Skincare/ Youthful Skin

boots vitamin e night cream

Hello all! For this post Bellefbeauty.com  is going to be looking at a product I’ve been using for some time now, (I feel almost selfish for keeping this from all of you for so long, sorry!) but I guess I just really wanted to make sure if Boots Vitamin E Night Cream has been helping me in any way at all, and my verdict is it certainly has!

I’ll be honest with you, I tend to get sucked into buying really expensive beauty products that don’t really do much at all, so when I decided to  give  Boots Vitamin E Night Cream a bash, I thought it wouldn’t be much of a loss if I didn’t like it, (especially as far as money is concerned)

I find this cream to be quite thick in consistency as you can see, but I quite liked that to be honest as it sinks in pretty well on the skin leaving your face feeling pretty smooth.

After using Boots Vitamin E Night Cream overnight, I find that my face looks very fresh the next morning, as it isn’t greasy at all (always a good thing). I always find that my skin looks very smooth the next morning (and then I start running my errands…..)

The one thing that really stands out to me about this product is the scent, I love the scent of  it, especially compared to some of the creams I’ve used in the past this is exceptionally good!

I really don’t think a product like this should be overlooked, and it seems to be suitable for all skin types. If you’d like a night cream that won’t fork too much out of you, I’d highly recommend Boots Vitamin E Night Cream. Given it’s price point (4.59),  you really can’t go wrong……

If you’re a fan of Boots Vitamin E Night Cream, let me know in the comments section below! 🙂

D.I.Y Pore Strips

D.I.Y/ How To/ Natural beauty/ Skincare

diy porestrips

Yesterday, I decided that a bit of pampering was in order. I put on some relaxing music and started off by cleansing and exfoliating my face and then, I went on to steam it. This was followed by a not so pampering experience of peeling  pore strips off my whole face.

Not to scare you or anything, but it was pain-FUL! So please don’t make the same mistake I made and just keep it to a minimum!

So why use pore strips?

Using pore strips is a quick and easy way to get rid of the dirt/oil in the pores that cause blackheads. This is one of my biggest beauty concerns. I’ve used these strips more than just a couple times and I’ve found that they do actually make a difference.

So if you’re looking for an inexpensive way to get rid of pore-clogging build up, then I suggest you give this a try! 🙂

  1. Get two spoons of unflavored gelatine
  2. Mix it with two spoons of milk
  3. Mix up an microwave for 10 seconds
  4. Using a foundation brush, apply to affected area, namely nose, chin / forehead

Let this set on your skin for about 10 minutes and when it dries up, let the peeling begin! Once you remove everything,  you should be able to see the dirt/oil from your pores on the actual strips! I know, it’s disgusting – but at least it shows you did a good job!

Note: DO NOT make the mistake of putting it all over your face, it WILL BE painful! Just put it on certain parts of the face that need it. Also, don’t let it dry with a blow drier as it will get too dry and will be even more difficult to peel off.

Let me know if you decide to give this recipe a try, feel free to comment below! xx

How to make your lipstick last longer

How To/ lips

mac rebel

If you are one of those people who have to constantly worry about retouching your lips, search no further because on enhancewhatsyours.com you’ll find the top tips for having your lipstick last longer so the last thing you have to think about on a night out is constantly doing retouches on your lips (can be pretty annoying!)

So here’s how to make your lipstick last longer:

Prep your lips:

1. Exfoliate: I can’t stress how important lip exfoliation is for your lips, as you might have saw in my D.I.Y lip scrub, regular exfoliation replaces old cells with new cells which is a great way to keep your lips soft and subtle.

Note: If you’re preparing for a night out you can give your lips a gentle scrub with your toothbrush for a quick/fresh exfoliation

2. Lip balm: Before lipstick comes lip balm, let it settle on your lips to keep them moistened and prevent them from cracking. If there is any excess balm make sure you blot it off.

The nitty gritty:

inglot lip pencil 857

1.Lip liner: Line your lips starting from the cupids bow and then fill them in with the liner. This will lay a foundation for your lipstick. Here I’m using a lip liner by Inglot which I love because it’s highly pigmented and also has a lip brush at the other end. (It’s so good, I sometimes use it as a lipstick on it’s own!)

2. Lipstick: For the best results, apply your lipstick with a lipstick brush, as it allows the color to really get into the lip and stay on longer. Get a tissue and blot your lips a couple of times to press the color into your lips. After this, go for a second coat of lipstick.

I will be using Rebel by MAC it’s another one of my favorites. And as you can see, the two colors are quite similar so it’s just perfect because the lip liner won’t take away from the lipstick’s true color!

3. Concealer: As we do to get perfect eyebrows, use concealer to tidy up around the lips and give them a clean edge.

Note: I also like to use the highlighter from my Gosh BB Skin Perfecting Kit and apply it to my cupids bow, this will give you and effortless pout!

And that’s that, 5 simple steps to have your lipstick last longer! How do you normally apply your lipstick?

How to clean your makeup brushes

How To/ maintenance

how to clean makeup brushes

There’s nothing worse than using dirty makeup brushes on your face, first of all it isn’t the most hygienic thing in the world, and secondly you are basically asking for your skin to be terribly irritated (not exactly the best way to Enhance What’s Yours...)

The above picture is what you should avoid doing. You should avoid immersing the head of your makeup brushes into water – pretty sure Bobbi Brown would back me up on that. Since the hairs on the makeup brushes are glued to the base, even the most expensive brushes will come apart if you do this so you should really avoid soaking your makeup brushes into water.

So how do you clean your makeup brushes then?

how to clean makeup brushes

  1. Drop  a very gentle non-alcoholic soap (preferably baby shampoo) into the palm of your hand
  2. Swirl the bristles of your makeup brush around your palm after having wet the brush.
  3. Once covered in soap, rinse thoroughly until all the soap residue is gone.
  4. Squeeze out any excess moisture out of the bristles.
  5. To finish up, reshape the brush head with your fingers.

Drying Station: Let your makeup brushes dry flat and hanging off the edge of a counter so the bristles stay into perfect shape.

Note: When you’re drying your makeup brushes do NOT dry them in an upright position, or else the water settles into the glue which holds the bristles together at the base of each brush.

A deep cleaning of your makeup brushes is recommended between once a week or once a month- A bit of a stretch I know, but if you use your brushed regularly then once every 3 weeks. If you don’t use them as often, then you’re not required to wash them as often.

If once a month is far too long for you (or if you just want to be super hygienic), you can give your makeup brushes a quick clean cleaning in between deep washes.

For a quick clean just follow  the steps below:

how to clean makeup brushes

  1. 1. Spray a makeup brush cleaner on tissue
  2. 2. Swipe it around and add a few more spritz
  3. 3. Swipe it up and fourth until all the residues are removed

I’d be lying if I said I did this every time I finished using my brushes, but it’s something I do immediately if my sister used my makeup brush because she forgot hers. Other than that a good clean every 2 weeks just about does it for me!

Hope you’ll make use of this quick lesson, feel free to leave comments below!
